When you transfer a domain to us, you are required to pay for an additional period of registration which is then added to the expiry date of the current registration. Other than that the transfer is FREE.
However, there are registry restrictions regarding the eligibility for this period to be added.
For information on transfer restrictions, please see the following article:
Restrictions on Transfers of Domain Names
To transfer a domain name you will need to do three things at your current Registrar:
- Unlock the domain by disabling Registrar-Lock
- Verify that the registrant and administrative contacts on the domain are current and valid
- Obtain the EPP code or Authorisation Key
Please note that there is a different process to follow for transferring your .UK domain name registration.
Please note that some domain extensions do not use Registrar-Lock or EPP codes.
For example, .eu domains only use email verification for transfers, and do not need to be unlocked or have an EPP code or Authorisation Key submitted for the transfer.
If you are having trouble completing any of the above steps, please search our knowledgebase for help or submit a support ticket with the details of your request.
Once you have the necessary information, please visit the following link to submit an order to transfer your domain registration to us:
Once the transfer is completed and the domain name is registered in our system, you will need to amend the registered NameServers in your Client Area to point to our NameServers. These details were contained in your New Account Information email.
