A Full Backup of your site will include all of your files, databases, email forwarders and configuration. You can only use this to move your account to another server or to archive your site. You cannot restore Full Backups through your cPanel interface.
The Full Backup takes a certain amount of time to complete depending upon the size of your site as the server compresses and stores the files into your Home Directory. Once the Full Backup is complete you will be sent an email notifying you that the compressed file is ready to download. Note: cPanel can only create Full Backups of 4Gb or less.
To generate a Full Backup:
- In the "Files" section of your cPanel click "Backup"
- Click "Download a Full Web Site Backup"
- In the drop down box leave Home Directory as the Backup Destination
- In the Email Address box enter the email address where you want the notification sent that the backup is complete.
- Click "Generate Backup"
The server will now generate a Full Backup for you and store the resulting TAR.GZ file inside your Home Directory, emailing you notification when it is complete.
